Numbers You Can
Actually Act On.

Reconciled books are the input, not the output. A monthly pack, a dashboard and a rolling cash forecast that answer the questions you were going to ask anyway.

Management Pack — CommentarySample, Illustrative Figures
Revenue$412,600
Gross Margin41.8%, down 2.2 points
Cash at Month-End$186,300

Sales grew, but refunds grew faster — almost all of it in one product line. Both channels otherwise held their margin. Worth a look before the next reorder.

What Arrives Every Month

Four views from a sample pack. The figures are illustrative; the format is the real one.

LineThis MonthLast MonthChange
Gross Sales$452,300$431,900+4.7%
Refunds−$39,700−$33,100+19.9%
Cost of Goods Sold−$240,200−$223,500+7.5%
Gross Profit$172,400$175,300−1.7%

Commentary

Sales grew, gross profit did not. Refunds rose faster than sales, concentrated in one product line — worth a look before the next reorder.

Contribution Margin34.2%22.8%
Platform Fee Rate3.1%31.4%
Refund Rate6.2%11.0%
Inventory Days on Hand68 days, combined

Commentary

The same products earn very differently by channel. Amazon carries fulfillment in its fee rate, which is why contribution margin is the fair comparison.

Next 13 WeeksAmount

Expected Receipts$548,000
Expected Payments−$497,000
Inventory Order, Week 6−$120,000
Lowest Point, Week 7$61,900

Commentary

Cash stays positive, but the reorder in week six takes it to its lowest point the week after. Timing the order a week later would help.

Gross Sales$440,000$452,300+$12,300
Advertising$52,000$61,400−$9,400
Gross Profit$180,000$172,400−$7,600

Commentary

Ahead on sales, behind on profit. Advertising overspent by 18% for 3% more sales than planned — the variance that matters this month.

Why It Matters

Reporting Is Only as Good as the Books Underneath It

A dashboard built on unreconciled books produces confident, well-designed, incorrect answers. That is worse than no dashboard, because you act on it.

This is why reporting is never sold on its own here. The bookkeeping is fixed first, the settlements are decomposed, inventory sits where it belongs — and only then does a margin figure mean anything. If someone offers you a dashboard without asking when your accounts were last reconciled, that should tell you something.

What Is Already Included

Every monthly bookkeeping tier includes a profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement as standard. The pack adds written commentary, comparatives and variance analysis — the interpretation rather than the output.

Questions

Reporting, Specifically

Can We Get Reporting Without the Bookkeeping?

No, and that is deliberate. We cannot stand behind analysis built on books we have not reconciled. If your books are kept elsewhere and kept well, start with the free diagnostic and we will tell you honestly whether they are ready.

What Format Does the Pack Arrive In?

A PDF pack plus the underlying spreadsheet, so you can take the numbers apart if you want to. Dashboards are built in the tool you already use where possible, including saved searches and report definitions you already have in NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Business Central.

Is This Fractional CFO Work?

No. We prepare and explain the numbers. Deciding what to do about them is advisory work, and we would rather point you to someone qualified than pretend otherwise.

How Quickly After Month-End?

Within the first ten business days, on a fixed date agreed with you. A pack that arrives three weeks late is a history lesson, not a management tool.
